Austin Landing hosted the 2nd Annual Sandmazing this month, hauling in over hundreds of tons of sand for not only the artists but also the children.
This family event allowed kids (and I suppose adults, if they wanted) to wear their favorite superhero costume. For the ones that did, they were awarded a free queso from Chuy’s Mexican restaurant.
I don’t know how long it took the artists to create their Superhero sand sculpture, but they were amazing. The rain stayed away and for this short weekend, the creations were displayed under tents to keep the possibility of damage to a minimum.
Alongside the sculptures, Austin Landing provided a large sandbox with all the sand toys for the kids.
