Dayton: what’s happening this weekend?

For the weekend of August 12-14, try some of these fabulous events if you are looking for something to do:

Germanfest Picnic at Carillon Park
1000 Carillon Blvd., Dayton
August 12-14/ free admission/ $2 parking

Voted one of the best festivals in the region, you don’t have to be German to love this weekend celebration. For the 33rd year, it’s a festival that never disappoints. It offers delicious food, imported beer, live music, crafts and raffles. It’s a family friendly event that will keep you coming back year after year.

Yuengling Bands & BBQ 
Austin Landing Park
10050 Innovation Dr., Dayton
August 14 from 1 -9 p.m. / $10 admission

Austin Landing presents the 4th Annual Yuengling Bands and BBQ festival during this one day event. It offers live country music from local musicians such as Jana Kramer, Kalie Shorr, Outshyne, and Aaron Hendra, to name a few. Enjoy local foods from establishments such as Amber Rose, Double D’s BBQ, El Mason, 1776 Grill and many more.

Half-Price Books Clearance Sale 
The Nutter Center
3640 Colonel Glen Hwy., Dayton
August 12-14/ Free event

Everything clearances $2 and below. Yes, below $2. Find great books, movies and music during this three day event. Be one of the first 100 customers and receive a free Half-price Book tote bag.

Reel Late: The Rocky Horror Picture Show 
Victoria Theatre
138 N. Main St., Dayton
August 13 at 10:30 p.m. and August 14 at 12:30 a.m./ Admission $6

Victoria Theatre is hosting it’s first Rocky Horror Picture Show event. Enjoy free popcorn and a cash bar prior to the movie. Dress in costume for a chance to win gifts. The event will include live music and $5 survival kits. Some items and behaviors are restricted due to the nature of the historical building, so check the website for a list of the restrictions.

Love Worn Truck Show 
The Dame & Dandy
30 Main St., Waynesville
August 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m./ Free

Do you love upcycled items? What about recycled clothing? Take part of this exciting event that allows customers to take an old t-shirt and turn it into a new creation. Bring your own t-shirt or purchase one at the store during this all day drop-in party. The Dame & Dandy will provide snacks and drinks.
