The Glendower Mansion is hosting a weekend of a Civil War Encampment on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24. This free family event is a great time to learn about a war that shaped the future of America and also explore the grounds and interior of Glendower Mansion.
The Ohio Valley Civil War Association will be camping overnight to provide education regarding the Civil War soldiers – “a day in the life”, learn about the weapons used and the ammunition, canons, and so much more.
Food trucks will be available on the grounds. Tours of the interior of the Mansion will be available for an additional $5 fee. Bring extra cash for booths with history books, and reproduction Derby and Top hats, among other things.
