The 15th Annual Bellbrook Lioness Club Garage Sale is underway and getting ready to kick off April 11-12, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 2757 Wilmington Pike Road.
The club begin the garage sale event in 2005 as a way to raise money for the club. The money raised stays in the community to be used to help the local schools, children and families. Now, 15 years later, this event grows in popularity.
“We always have a lot of fun getting ready for the garage sales. Last year, one of the lioness’ brought an unusual scarf; it had stuffed boobs on the ends,” Bellbrook Lioness Jaynie Ramsey said. “Of course, it had to be tried on and pictures were taken. It was really funny.”
What’s exciting about this year? Some of the Lionesses are downsizing their personal stuff and bringing it in. Already, the organization has been receiving tons of items and they are expecting to have a huge sale this year. So big, they wanted to put up a tent outside, but they didn’t have very good luck with that in the past. As a matter-of-fact, last year, huge wind spread through the area, the tent wasn’t properly anchored, and the tent flew up almost to the roof. The tent was retrieved but injuries were had; broken ribs and bruised bodies.
The best thing about garage sales is that you never know what to expect and never know what treasure you will find.
Can’t wait until this sale. Get there early for the best selection.
