The Dayton/Cincinnati area has always held great pride in the artists that are attracted to the area, people and venues of this area. There are so many venues available in this region. So, when the Miami University Regional Artist Series announced their 2018-19 season, I wasn’t surprised that they were able to get some great artists. Here is their line-up for this season in Hamilton and Middletown.
Hamilton:

Blue Highway – September 22, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
This traditional, original bluegrass band is storming the national airplay charts. Blue Highway has earned a collective 27 IBMA awards and garnered three GRAMMY® nominations most recently for Best Bluegrass Album of 2017.

John McEuen & The String Wizards present:
Will the Circle Be Unbroken – October 27, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
An original member of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, McEuen (banjo) will be joined on stage by other instrumental giants serving up the best of today’s acoustic string music. Stars and Stripes Forever.

Over the Rhine – February 23, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.


The Ruth Moody Band – April 13, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
Ruth is a founding and current member of the internationally renowned, Billboard charting trio The Wailin’ Jennys. Critics laud Ruth’s exceptional depth, ethereal vocals, multi-instrumentalism and insightful songwriting. This show will be an acoustic trio.

Shawn Colvin – October 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
Shawn is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter-guitarist. She has won three Grammy Awards, released 11 albums, and her songs have been featured in major motion pictures. She received the Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award at the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards Show. This will be a solo acoustic show.

Dailey & Vincent – November 2, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.
Grand Ole Opry members, Five-time GRAMMY® award winners individually and three-time GRAMMY® award nominees collectively. Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent are backed by one of the best bands on tour today, some of the most reputable and elite entertainers in American music; bluegrass, traditional country and gospel.

The Subdudes – March 30, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
This is an American roots rock group from New Orleans. Their music blends folk, swamp pop, New Orleans rhythm and blues, Louisiana blues, country, cajun/zydeco, funk, soul and gospel with harmonic vocals. You don’t want miss this show.
