To help show your appreciation, support and gratitude for those who have fought for the freedoms we have, here are some events in Ohio to attend.

DAYTON AREA 

CITY OF BEAVERCREEK

The City of Beavercreek Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 1911 N. Fairfield Road. The ceremony will honor and say thank you to all those many Americans who have served in the armed forces and those men and women currently defending our freedoms and the ideals of our country.

Colonel Thomas P. Sherman will be the guest speaker. Colonel Sherman is the 88th Air Base Wing and Installation Commander at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

The public is invited to attend the community’s observance of Veterans Day. Parking is available on Fairwood Drive and at the Church of the Nazarene. Limited bleacher seating is available; lawn chairs are welcome.

CITY OF CENTERVILLE

The City of Centerville and Centerville Veterans of Foreign War Post 9550 are saluting those who protect, preserve and maintain freedom. This will take place at Stubbs Park located at 255 W. Spring Valley Road from 11 a.m. to noon. This is a free event

CINCINNATI AREA 

DAV 5K Cincinnati 

On November 10, 2018, a 5K run and/or 1 mile run/walk will take place at Sawyers Point located at 705 E. Pete Rose Way. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Here is the route map.

Free Admission for Members of the Armed Services:

B105 Military Days at the Cincinnati Zoo: All members of the military — active and retired — will receive FREE admission to the Zoo on … Veteran’s Day.  The offer also allows military personnel to purchase up to six (6) half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family. Military personnel who qualify for the free admission ticket and discount offer for family members include active military, retired military, National Guard, veterans with honorable or medical discharge and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps with government issued ID.

The Newport Aquarium is honoring all the men and women who’ve served our country by offering them free admission November 5-13. Members of the military, including active or retired military, disabled veterans, military reservist, or anyone who has ever served in the Armed Forces, can show their Military I.D.* at the Newport Aquarium ticket window to receive free admission. Family members can receive our military discount of $3 off adult tickets and $2 off children’s tickets for up to four additional tickets.

CLEVELAND AREA 

2018 Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade will be held at the rotunda of City Hall at 11 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 followed by the Veteran’s Day parade at approximately 12:30 p.m.
