I have been following this group for several years and they continue to amaze me. The Muslim Sisters of Dayton is a group of young women and men that strive to make a difference in the world, one step at a time. This event wasn’t any different. Led by Kaukab Husain, she is the sunshine to this group.
During their 2nd Annual program, “An Evening with the MYO”, it demonstrated what the group has accomplished and what they strive to do in the future.

The program started off with a dua by Humza Khan and translation by Fawaz Ghouse.
Because I was unable to attend this program, Husain summarized the program as stating,
“The topics were very relevant and powerful. Some topics were currently applicable while the other topics were pertinent later down the road. These young adults spoke very eloquently and were mature enough to shed light on some very concerning social/behavioral red flags that usually are not given enough attention, but can have long-lasting impacts on a person’s life. The kids were wise enough to not only draw your attention to those habits, but also suggest some ways to be aware of them and to seek help. Thanks to Sher Shah and Ridha Nazir for being outstanding MC.”
“The second half of the program was a panel of seniors sharing their reflections of their four years of high school.”
“Later the floor was opened up for Q&A, giving a great opportunity for the youth and the parents to ask various related questions. Thanks to Danyal Atiq for leading the senior panel and to Abdullah Nasir for acknowledging our hardworking Muslim youths.”
Husain shared her gratitude on the Facebook page, stating,
“Watching all these young Muslim youths talk, knowing all they do to give back to the community and the grace and humanity they display, leave you with a feeling of pride and joy that our future is in very good hands, Allah willing.”
“A huge thanks to Saira Baig for her management, Umara Chaudhry, Saira Sethi, Parveen Arshad and all the wonderful parents for their great help. Thanks to Chanda Haq for being the voice of the parents. I truly appreciate you all.”
“Special thanks to Taha Khanzada, MYO alumni, for being our photographer,” Husain said. “Also, thanks to Faisal Mahmood, Sheroz’s dad, for video recording the event.”
Here’s to another great year for this group- demonstrating that there is so much good to give to the world.
