Whenever I think of summer, I anticipate the Dayton Celtic Festival. It’s always the weekend of my daughter’s birthday and very hard to forget. But, this year, even though my anticipation couldn’t be any higher, and due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t make it. Yes, that’s right. I missed it.

Yes, I missed my favorite bands EVER – Scythian, Gaelic Storm and Socks in the Frying Pan.
This is the best concert series in the City of Dayton hands down and did I mention FREE? Sure I can see these bands during their tour, but this is one of the best venues to see the bands. Scythian has a following and audiance like now other and an energy that creates enthusiasm that lingers from band to band during this three day music festival event.

If you are of Irish heritage or not, this festival is always a great time. It’s located right on the river at Riverscape where the kids can play in the water park and parents can listen to some great music. Food and merchandise vendors line the streets and surround the four bandstands that are located throughout the streets of Monument Ave.
I’m still so sad I missed it. If you didn’t, post your photos in the comments. I would love to see the great time I missed.
Until Next year!
